Is Exfoliating/scrubbing the skin after cleansing good or bad?

I read and hear so many mixed reviews on the subject. Some say it is crucial to exfoliate at least twice a week to slough off dull, dead skin on the face, while others say it is torture for the skin. So which is it?

I have normal/dry skin by the way.Is Exfoliating/scrubbing the skin after cleansing good or bad?
it is crucial to gently exfoliate at least once a week. don't be harsh, using a washcloth is considered exfoliation.

whatever you do don't use a crappy scrub from the drugstore. the scrubbies under a microscope look like shards of glass. spend money on either a gentle enzyme exfoliation if you don't want a scrub. Is Exfoliating/scrubbing the skin after cleansing good or bad?
2x a week is good enough to remove dead skin and any other toxins....use a loofah sponge and oatmeal soap is all you need...

happy scrubbing !!
If you exfoliate with a scrub, do so only TWICE A WEEK no more because you can harm the ph of the skin and therefore irritaated and ';torture'; it. HORRIBLE!!!! but do it if your clenaser doesn't contain AHA, if it does...then u dont need to
Yeah, don't scrub your face. The skin there is pretty delicate. There are plenty of very gentle exfoliants on the market, and I honestly wouldn't use one more than once a week.

Things like crushed nut shells or seed husks are way to rough. There are cleansers with tiny exfoliating beads and stuff like that - that'd be my choice.
